Zoe Braves the Shave for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice
Raising money and setting trends!
It all started with Dr Kershaw’s “Corporate Challenge”, where the charity challenged local businesses to take £30 and make as much money with it as possible to be donated back to them. The team were brainstorming what they could do to raise the most money when someone suggested a charity head shave.
Zoe Taylor was only too happy to volunteer. Colleague, Rebecca Shipley, commented, “Zoe was a big inspiration to us all. She didn't even bat an eye lid when a head shave was mentioned, she volunteered straight away and was very excited to be a part of the challenge.”
The event itself went perfectly and was even streamed live on Facebook attracting a massive 10,000 views! An incredible £860 was raised, £460 over Zoe’s original target.
It seems Zoe’s efforts have not only been fantastic for her fundraising efforts, but Kershaw’s have been in touch to say she’s started a trend, and more people have come forward to shave their heads as well!
Speaking about the charity, Zoe says: “I love Dr Kershaws, they do amazing work with end of life care and supporting the families. I personally lost a close friend recently who was very well cared for by Dr Kershaw’s and I witnessed the wonderful care they provide.”
And does she regret volunteering for the event? Not even a little bit, she says: “I feel amazing about completing the challenge, I was super proud of myself and would do it all again tomorrow!”
Well done Zoe! And well done to the rest of the team at Oldham Funeralcare who continue to great work in raising money for this fantastic cause.
