Walking for the ones we love

Hayley's Midnight Memory Walk for local hospice

A massive well done to Hayley Clow from Relphs Funeralcare for taking part in the Bolton Hospice Midnight Walk, an 8 mile walk raising viral funds for her local hospice.

Starting at 10pm, over 900 people took part in the walk. And with the route passing our Shaws funeral home, they also took the opportunity to show their support by lighting the funeral home in pink to illuminate the journey.

Hayley told us about her challenge: "The main road was still open, and as the cars were passing, people were beeping and waving. There were also people stood outside their houses, clapping, waving and shouted words of encouragement, one lady was even handing sweets out!

"On the way back it was obviously darker and Shaws looked amazing with the bright pink lights!

"I finished the walk at 12.25pm. My feet were killing me by this point so I collected my medal and went home, very glad to get my trainers off and have a cuddle with my dog."

Hayley raised a fantastic £327.03 for her efforts, with the total raised for the event topping £78,000.

Well done Hayley and the team at Shaws for lighting the way.
