Two days of fun for the whole family in South Wales
the teams in South Wales raised over £2,000
The kid’s summer holidays might be officially over, but that didn’t stop the big kids at our Tonypandy and Aberdare funeral homes having their own fun, by organising a two-day fun-day spectacular to raise some money for a local cause.
The special baby care unit at Prince Charles Hospital do incredible things for babies and families who need it, and our colleagues Tyrone Griffiths and Chris Davies were keen to support them…so off they went with their big grand plans!
Day number one of the two-day event brought Ascot to Aberdare, with virtual horse racing at the local rugby club.
Attendees paid £5 a ticket to raise their bets, while enjoying the jams of live band “Freakuency” that our Funeralcare twosome had arranged.
The second day was a day for all the family in the Brecon Beacons, which included all the classic summer games like sack races, duck races along the river and crazy golf for 50p a turn, with face-painting for a £2 donation.
Hungry tums were also fed with a delicious barbecue - all the food and drink was of course donated by Funeralcare and then sold on to visitors for £1 an item.
Altogether over £2,000 was raised and Tyrone was proud as punch telling us “I’ve always enjoyed getting involved with community activities, and this is a cause that’s very close to my heart.
“In December of last year, my partner’s grandson was born prematurely, and thanks to the brilliant team at the Prince Charles baby unit, he is now nine months old and doing brilliantly, so we wanted to give something back to them.”
A massive well done, your hard work has clearly paid off Tyrone and Chris.
