Southport Tackles Loneliness

Grieving doesn't end when the funeral is over

Everybody needs someone to talk to, and when you've lost a loved one it can be a real comfort to talk to someone who understands what you're going through.

Debbie Hall wanted to help support bereaved members of her Southport community and so she introduced Co-op's 'Friends together' - a monthly lunch where people can get together for a home cooked meal and a chat with like minded people.

Held at a local church, the group aims to help people through the grieving process with open and honest conversation. But far from being a sombre atmosphere, Debbie says the room is often filled with laughter.
