Soggy Fun With SELFA
A day trip to the Yorkshire Dales
It was a soggy day in August when Anne Hodgkiss from our funeral home in The Knowle (Keighley) donned her wellies and headed out to Malham Tarn. She was volunteering with SELFA - a children's charity in Skipton who, amongst other things, run a holiday club. Today they were taking 12 children for an outdoor day in the Yorkshire Dales, and they didn't let the bad weather stand in their way.
The children collected leaves and once they were out of the rain, took part in leaf printing. Lots of fun was had by the kids and the helpers, as this involved bashing the leaves using a block of wood, piece of white material and a hammer!
As the weather brightened, the children were then let loose at Gordale Scar where the day ended with lots of wet wellies and 12 tired but happy kids.
Well done Anne for getting involved in this worthwhile charity.
