Scouts have a lesson in all things funeral related
Allerton Road host 'a day in the life of...' session
We're all likely to be affected by the death of a loved one at some point throughout our lives and it's useful for us to have some kind of knowledge whatever age we are.
With this in mind, Rob Tindall, Funeral Director and Marie Hayes, Funeral Arranger from our Allerton Road funeral home in Bradford attended their local Cub and Scout groups to give them a taster of 'a day in the life of a Funeral Director'.
The Funeralcare pair gave the youngsters an informal presentation, brought along some visuals to show them the types of alternative hearses people choose and showed them themed funerals that have taken place including our infamous Darth Vader funeral.
The children and group leaders found the evening really interesting and Marie even created a wordsearch to make the session more interactive (pictured), provoking questions relating to the words such as bearers, eulogy and cortege.
Well done to Rob and Marie for being advocates in encouraging conversations about death to happen and become accepted.
