PRESS RELEASE: Football club partnership with Co-op still going strong with new strips
Gwersyllt Funeralcare presented a £400 cheque
Gwersyllt Funeralcare have presented a local football club with a cheque for £400, as a sponsorship for the reserve team’s brand new kit.
Llay Welfare Football Club is based in Llay Miners Welfare near Wrexham, a community facility that promotes local sport and provides a central place for social engagement. As a way of establishing Gwersyllt Funeralcare as a place where people can rely on community support, Funeral Arranger Kevin Keen got in touch with a number of the clubs.
“With a new season on the horizon, the football team approached us because they were in need of kits for their reserve team. We’re thrilled that we’ve been able to contribute to the success of the team, and we wish them luck for their matches over the coming months.”
The Gwersyllt Funeralcare team were keen to get involved with this project, believing strongly in lending local causes the support they need.
David Garratt, reserve team coach, added:
“Since we received the sponsorship from Co-op Funeralcare, there’s been a renewed interest in the team, and their eye-catching new kit has certainly given the boys a morale boost.
“We’re delighted to be able to enter the new football season with such great support, and we hope that this partnership is one that will continue long into the future.”
