Penrith support local girl Jess
she's leaving for Zambia late September
We love to make a difference in our communities, whether it's through activities we organise, or the people we support.
Our latest backing comes in the form of Jess Richardson, a young lady from Penrith with hopes and dreams of volunteering in poorer countries to improve their lives.
Sharon from our Penrith funeral home was recently approached, to help in her quest to raise funds to get there and was blown away by her ambition and the cause.
Eager to support, she donated a big hamper full of goodies for the raffle in a charity event Jess had organised (pictured).
The charity event was that little bit different and got people working up a sweat in an exercise night. Sharon was a great sport, stretching and toning along with 20 others to raise a brilliant £247.
This has been a valued contribution with Jess now leaving for Zambia in late September, where she'll spend three months living with a local family in Lusaka, while working in the community.
Good luck on your adventure Jess!
