Nicola and Donna supporting bereaved parents
Our Funeral Directors recognised with award nominations
We’re always proud of our funeral home colleagues but it’s extra special when their hard work and compassion is recognised by others.
So today we’re more than proud to share with you the story of two of our funeral directors who have touched the lives of parents in the unimaginable position of losing a baby. Both colleagues have been nominated for awards in recognition of their work with bereaved parents.
Nicola Major from our Harrogate funeral home was nominated by a father who lost his baby two years ago. Over this time he became involved with a local charity “Our Angels” and Nicola now works very closely with him. She was honoured to be nominated and later shortlisted in the Butterfly Awards, in the category of Bereavement Worker.
Donna Lunn was also nominated for an award, this time from the Royal Bolton Hospital Annual Staff Awards. Donna works closely with midwives there to help them guide and care for parents with babies born sleeping. She helped to organise the hospital’s Baby Memorial Service and attends events to raise awareness of still birth and pregnancy loss.
Thank you Nicola and Donna.
