Mountain rescue team help say goodbye to one of their own

Glossop Carriage Company arrange a special tribute

More and more people are choosing to personalise their loved ones funeral through their choice of hearse.

When arranging the funeral of a young mountain rescue volunteer, our team at Glossop Carriage Company were keen to make his service unique and were honoured to help when the family asked if they could use the mountain rescue Land Rover to take him to the church.

The Glossop rescue team brought a few vehicles for the funeral home to look at, and a suitable one was chosen. Family and friends also helped by decorating the church ready for the service with climbing ropes and pictures of the gentleman.

Described by his family as an outdoor type who loved rock climbing, it had been his dream to join the mountain rescue team and help his local community.

This was truly a fitting tribute to a man who was 'tremendously kind' and 'someone who put others before himself'.
