#LoveDarlo BigPicnic

Cockerton Village embracing the British summer!

So far, our 2016 summer hasn’t been anything to write home about – but who needs the sun to have fun, hey? Not our Cockerton Village funeral home!

Embracing the British summer, they joined forces with other businesses and groups in the area for the #LoveDarlo BigPicnic, to celebrate everything that’s good about living in Darlington.
There was something for everyone including police interceptors and fire engines, the local rugby and basketball clubs, the Neighbourhood Watch and Gay Advice groups, live music on the bandstand and the local bowling club even had the green open to let visitors try their hand at bowling (our Cockerton Village provided Co-op Funeralcare scoring cards and pencils for the bowlers of course!).

The team also came armed with Co-op branded water, oranges, membership stress bees, animal face masks for the children to colour in, windmills for the children to make, wildflower seeds and organised a hamper for the free prize draw.

Well done to the team at Cockerton Village - it sounds like the best kind of way to celebrate your wonderful community and it’s so good to hear how proud you are of it and are helping others to enjoy our journey of being #beingcoop too.
