Granddad's very special vegetable spray tribute
he was a keen gardener and loved to grow vegetables
We love to be able to share the unique, wonderful and wacky unique tributes that we organise, to help clients say goodbye to somebody that they’ve lost.
We’re still in awe of what we see, and can only imagine how thankful the families in our care must be.
Recently Jill Huelin, Funeral Director from our Frank Coopers funeral home in Bradford was supporting a bereaved client - and on her way into the family home noticed a lovely little sign presenting ‘Granddad's Veg Patch’.
During a conversation with the family, Jill learnt that their lost loved one had treasured his garden, and growing vegetables, which sparked an idea…
She suggested that they swap traditional flowers for a colourful vegetable spray, to personalise the funeral with his most favourite things - which the family were delighted with!
Jill organised an unbelievable arrangement which was made up of cauliflowers, onions, potatoes, carrots and other tasty produce.
After other members of the team commented that “it smelt good enough to eat”, the family took the tribute home to make a stew – just as their absent loved one would have wanted.
