A heartfelt gift for our Bishop Auckland Funeral Director
a family he'd looked after wanted to say thank you
The things our colleagues do for families at their time of need is so extraordinary, and they often have a special place in hearts across their community that's irreplaceable.
We were moved today to hear a story from a colleague about Colin Farlow, Funeral Director at our Bishop Auckland funeral home, and a family that he'd looked after.
We received the story which read:
"This painting was given as a gift to Colin, in appreciation of his services from the family of his old art teacher.
Colin had asked years ago whilst at school if he could have a painting his teacher had done, but his teacher said it was rubbish and threw it in the bin.
Knowing this, the family gave him the painting and wrote on the back of it:
'Colin, this picture is to replace the one that Dad threw in the bin all those years ago. Enjoy it. Thank you for all your help with Dad's funeral.'"
Colin had clearly made a huge impression, and the gratitude that the family have shown really is lovely. Well done Colin.
