A beautiful unique tribute for a special little superhero

Chris Teasdale and the team at Mapperley arranged it

Tragedy can strike in many different ways but the loss of a child is completely unimaginable.

Chris Teasdale from our Mapperley funeral home in Nottingham was recently visited by a family, who had unexpectedly just lost their three year old son through a heart-breaking accident.

Understandably they were finding the death of their little boy very difficult to deal with and were struggling to find the strength to make the funeral arrangements.

Chris soon became a heaven-sent and went above and beyond to not only support them, but to create a true commemoration of their boy with a Power Rangers and Superhero themed funeral – just like he’d loved.

The family’s upset meant they couldn’t attend the crematorium, but they didn't want him to be alone. So with their consent, Chris decided to pull together his own family and friends to carry the coffin into the crematorium, dressed as Superheroes, for a “super hero send-off" (pictured).

Despite the day being difficult, the family were happy with the funeral and were pleased with the effort and commitment that Chris showed, to make sure their boy’s final journey was special.

Well done to Chris, his family and friends who assisted and the rest of the team from Mapperley – this is an act of modest kindness that hasn’t got unrecognised.
