Our work with Stonewall
Partnering with the gay, lesbian and bisexual charity
Stonewall is a lesbian, gay and bisexual charity renowned for campaigning and lobbying. Since they were founded in 1989, they have made great strides towards equality from the overturning of Section 28 through to equal marriage.
We are proud to have partnered with Stonewall on a ground-breaking piece of research to better understand the specific issues that the lesbian, gay and bisexual community face when it comes to later life planning.
The joint report uncovered poor treatment towards grieving gay people - with one in ten saying they have experienced discrimination at a funeral or when arranging one.
Two out of five feared the reaction from religious leaders or officials while one in five worried about discrimination from family members.
Take a look below at the research infographic which includes the findings:
Following this research, we've produced a guide in conjunction with Stonewall to help lesbian, gay and bisexual people plan for their future and guide them through the process of planning for later life including legal matters such as will writing, financial matters and funeral planning.

We believe every funeral should be a personal and fitting tribute and every client we look after should expect the same high standard of care from us. We are part of an organisation that is fully supportive of equal rights and treatment for lesbian, gay, and bisexual people and this guide is another example of how we’re here for lesbian, gay and bisexual people at every stage of life.
